Private Counsel typically works on the basis of a retainer fee which is agreed periodically and normally invoiced on a monthly basis. The amount is determined on the basis of the anticipated scope of work. In principle, the agreed fee is not subject to adjustment during the period concerned.

A fixed fee may be agreed for specifically defined services, or a specific project.

Our charges are calculated on the basis of a standard Advocates Remuneration Rules and Regulations. For regular retainer fees 70% of this standard rate is applied Substantial projects are charged on the basis of 85% of the standard rate. For incidental assignments 100% of the standard rate is applied (and 125% if the work is performed outside business hours).

Reasonable travel and accomodation expenses are charged separately. Substantial costs will be subject to prior consultation.
